A Really good topping for Tilapia is VERY thin sliced almonds! I buy little bags of them at the dollar tree. They keep vey well and are also good when making cream cheese almond bars and in cereal!

You can also create a “nature’s bracelet” by using the tape, dried flowers and clear packing tape. Cut a piece of tape the size of your wrist, place the dried flowers on the sticky side, cover with the clear tape to seal the flowers. Punch a hole at either end and tie a ribbon through. The bracelet is reversible–can wear either the flower side or the tape side.

Oh my gosh! You actually replied! Wow! I am a crafter but no where as good as you. However, I totally love what I do and it keeps me not so stressed. I’m thinking of putting my stuff out on my lawn this summer on the weekends like I would at the street fair. I did terrible at the street fair and I am convinced that people just want to go down for a night out and not to buy anything except food. I even sold cookies and no one wanted to buy them either! I can’t afford that kind of money if I am not going to really sell anything. This way people who drive buy might have a look and hey, it’s my house so the lawn is a free space! LOL

I haven’t been to Art’s Desire yet but I may go this Fri. Every time I want to go to Artwell to get my stuff out of there to put in Art’s Desire, the weather is bad or something else comes up. I haven’t been to a lot of the places you are talking about but I was just at The Warner for Anything Goes. My sister did the follow spot for it and had a booth with her leather purses that she puts her photos on the front. I helped her out when she had to go upstairs to do the follow spot. I’m guessing your stuff was upstairs where I didn’t go. Darn it! Let’s hope I get to see it on Fri. Oh yeah, I would love to come to your studio! That would be so amazing to see your work there! Thank you for inviting me! I’ll try to go with my sister who I am sure would love to see your work up close and personal and I will call first, I promise. Thanks again for letting me know where you I so I can check you out. Look forward to seeing you in person!

When I make reversible bags, I put the 2 ‘bags’ together differently – I put them right sides together, pinning the handles in-between. Then I sew almost all the way around the top, leaving a gap. Then turn everything right side out through the hole, and topstich, which closes up the hole. Its less fiddly than getting the folded edge just right, and it also gives you a double stitch on your handles making them stronger. If I want really tough handles, I leave the ‘tails’ a couple inches long sticking in-between the layers of the bag, and after topstiching, go back and “X box” where the handles attach.

Barbra, I do have a few stray plants that I had to dig up with a little shovel. That is why, after the flowers bloom, i cut off all the heads before they go to seed. It works very well to keep them under control. I just take out some heavy kitchen shears and chop them off!

I LOVE reading your comments Gail and I’m ALL ABOUT TORRINGTON, and so many people say that I’ll never make it here…” you have to go to New York or Boston “. Screw that ! I want them to hear about it, have it pique their interest… AND TRAVEL HERE ! If my work was a small pebble tossed into a calm lake it would cause a RIPPLE EFFECT and that’s where my WORK IS at the present moment. Eventually they’ll hear about it and then go looking for the source. Even this interview, Rachel is FROM IOWA ! She found me… so if she can find me from the Heartland then so can NY ! And you don’t get out much if you haven’t seen my work around town ? Just yesterday I talked to Ken Fador, Owner of ” THE FLOWER GIRL ” on Main St. and he’s interested in consigning my work and giving me a spot in his flower shop for my Sculpted Quotes. But I also have to talk to the Owner of Cake’s Unlimited on the Winsted Road for the same thing. But I have my work in the ” ART’S DESIRE ” a Pen & Ink in the ” WARNER THEATER ” another one at the front desk of THE YANKEE PEDDLER ” and nine pieces on display at ANTHONY’S PIZZA and a couple in SALERNO’S DELI and a few other places in Litchfield County. BUT Gail to be really BLOWN AWAY by my pieces you have to come HERE, to my GALLERY. I do ask that you call first because I do work a job and working on doing this for a living. I love chives and loved the flowers in the fall BUT…I am over run with small chive plants now and they do not pull out easily so a word of warning!!! Those seeds went wild!

I am not sure if there is a name for it, but I did try to create that edging myself. I ordered a special machine wing needle in size 120/19. Then I used an heirloom fancy stitch on my machine that looks like an asterisk with a long stitch length of 4 to 5 mm. The large wing needle created a big enough hole to slip the smaller crochet hooks into and the asterisk stitch protected the hole. Has anyone else tried to do this?

I was trying to think of the term for the ‘ready to crochet to’ edge of old linens. I wondered if it was an old attachment to sewing machines or if the linens came with the holes from the sellers. Any one know this? Thnx, Patty

Now JoAnne, that’s a Great Question ? I know how you feel, and I felt the same way. So I attended a COPYRIGHT CLASS about 5 years ago when I was starting my 2nd year into my Sculpted Art. And I was telling the Instructor about my Idea and Passion, and this very question that you’re asking here. And what I FOUND out was that if I was going to take my 4X4 ABBEY ROAD that’s directly behind me in my Profile Picture and cast a mold of it then started to sell hundreds or even thousands of them at 5,000.00 each then THAT would send up the RED FLAG and Abbey Road Studios would shut you down or want their cut. But I’m just a little fish in a Big Pond that creates ONE OF A KIND PIECES and its not worth coming after me for a couple grand. $30 or $40 grand well that might draw some attention as well.
