How-to: No Sew Pin Cushion
I can’t think of a better project to start my Goodsmiths blogging with than something you can use again and again in crafting — a pin cushion. I first made a pin cushion like this back in Girl Scouts, and I still use it to this day (no joke).
What you will need:
- Canning jar ring and lid
- Scissors
- Small piece of fabric (I found some sweet red seersucker fabric that I’m totally in love with for mine.)
- A small amount of fiberfill
- Straight pins

What you will need to do:
Cut your fabric into a square using your jar ring as a guide, as shown. Remember to leave plenty of excess fabric.

Turn your lid over, and layer the fabric square and your fiberfill over it.

Gently stuff your fabric and fiberfill through the ring, and secure it all by pushing the round lid into place over the fiberfill. Check out these photos as a guide:

Trim excess fabric, flip the whole thing over, and you’re done! An amazingly simple and cute pin cushion. Spoiler alert: with the tutorial I’ve got planned for next week, you’re going to be glad you have a pin cushion handy! :)

Simple, huh? Let me know how it went — leave a comment below!

Thanks again! And have a beautifully creative day ahead!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just made one of these and it is so simple and quick but is so useful. I am teaching sewing for summer school, and this is going to be one of our very first projects.
